In Shamanism, “spirit releasing” refers to exorcism (sometimes referred to as 'casting out' or 'depossession'). It often involves a human spirit possessing another human spirit but it can also include geographical locations, physical buildings, and personal items. In a person, a possession might manifest as a chronic headache or a sore knee that never goes away and doesn’t have a medical cause. Some places are more notorious for housing these “suffering beings” such as hospitals or land masses where many people died in a tragic manner (eg. plane crash, war zone, environmental disasters). The word “possession” is loaded and can easily trigger some people (re: images from the Exorcist or stories told in church). But it’s important to note that possessions are actually quite common. Not every soul “crosses over” immediately after death and, when that happens, they’re just floating around looking for a place to settle. During the soul releasing process, I engage the “entity” in a dialogue by which we can help the Spirit cross over to the other side. In this manner, 2 souls are disentangled and can exist, separately, in the appropriate time and place (which is understandably a good thing). Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about this process.

Spiritual Intrusions are misplaced energy in the human body. They can be caused by words, thoughts, beliefs, and “poisonous darts” (intentional negative energy directed towards a person). This may result in “stuck” energy in the human body and can manifest as anything from chronic backaches, headaches, and anxiety to cancer and heart disease. When this happens, an Extraction ceremony may be performed. During this ceremony, the Shaman or Shamanic Practitioner removes the energy that doesn’t belong so that the client is freed up to move forward in a good way. The Extraction process varies depending on the country of origin. I’ve seen (and facilitated) ceremonies that include sucking the misplaced energy out with a gemstone egg, a real egg, one’s hands, and via guided meditation. And I’m quite certain there are many other techniques as well. At the end of the day, the energy that doesn’t belong is removed, the space is filled with divine light, and the client is left feeling more at ease in their body. Throughout the course of one’s lifetime, we can encounter what’s known as “soul loss” during traumatic or difficult times. This may include (but is certainly not limited to) divorce, surgery, loss of a loved one, a traumatic accident, addictions, abuse, etc. To protect itself from harm, tiny pieces of our soul known as “essences” might choose to detach from our energy body before the event takes place (for self-preservation purposes). The Shamanic Practitioner undertakes a Journey to the spirit realms in an attempt to find these essences and return them home again (if they are ready and willing to return). Shamanism itself was birthed in Siberia but has expanded throughout the globe over the centuries. That being said, there are a number of ways to facilitate and experience this powerful ceremony depending on the teachings, experiences, and culture of the Shaman or Shamanic Practitioner involved. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you might have. |
